Deciding on forever

TJ and Kailey are a young couple who have decided to celebrate their forever at Deer Ridge Estates (DRE). Over the next several months they will share their experiences on planning and preparing for their big day, which is in October 2025.  To learn more about them read their story below and learn how they found DRE.

 

Engagements are often depicted as grand gestures filled with elaborate plans and perfect moments.  Our story might seem grand to some, but for us it was beautifully simple and personal.  TJ and I had been together for 2 years when we stated talking about getting married, with the things life had put in our path, we knew we would spend together forever.  However, I was not even thinking about getting engaged when he asked what kind of ring I would like…when the time came.  I didn’t have the slightest idea.  So, we went ring shopping, and I tried a few rings on.  Fast forward 18 months and TJ had the elaborate plans and grand gestures all worked out! 

One of my bucket list items was to go to New York City during Christmas time.    We talked about this trip with our best friends all the time.  Then, during a random evening together, they mentioned flights were on sale to NYC. It was the end of summer in 2023 when we decided to go to New York that December.  I could never image that TJ was planning to propose in just 3 short months. Of course, I later found out that TJ has been planning this for awhile and his friend set me up to book the trip so I would not know his plans.

 

After celebrating our engagement with our friends in NYC and then back home with more friends and family we started the planning.  I knew I wanted a fall wedding, but the date would depend on the venue we selected.  We were in no rush to get married, so we took our time, researching venues and making our guest list so we made sure to find a venue that could accommodate all our family and friends.

 

When we found DRE’s website, we were pretty sure this would be where we would get married. We looked at other venues before visiting DRE so we could be sure it was the place for us. When we finally toured the venue, we fell in love with its beauty and everything they offer.  We found a date and booked it right away. We are excited to join the many others that have shared their special day at Deer Ridge Estates and will share our wedding planning journey here, including our fitness routines and skin care plans so we look and feel our best for our special day.

Deer Ridge Estate

Deer Ridge Estate is located on 160 picturesque acres, overlooking a pond, and encircled by many trees. The estate includes a 10,000-square foot lodge that can accommodate small and large events. The lodge has concrete floors, heating and air-conditioning, large restrooms, a commercial kitchen, built in bar, a mezzanine with an additional bar area and seating, two covered porches, a deck overlooking the pond, a circle drive for drop off and pick up and plenty of parking.

The Estate also has an open-air chapel and the ability to host services inside or outdoors. It is possible to have the service and reception in the same location. There are four bedrooms with on-suite bathrooms, plus Bride and Groom’s dressing rooms with access to their own private deck. Your entire wedding party can prepare for your special day in one place, with plenty of space and privacy!
